This
is a card that I intended as an anniversary card, but it could easily double as
a Valentine! This was a swap I
made for Leadership, so there isn’t an inside. The technique used is “Background Burst” from one of my
favorite websites.
When
I was first learning to stamp, Pat’s newsletter (Technique Junkies) gave me so
many fun ways to experiment with ink, paper and stamps. She has a host of wonderfully talented
stamping artists who submit new techniques. If you don’t know about this site, please take a look!
The
background burst technique involves the use of a somewhat solid image stamped
onto dark cardstock with White Craft Ink, then daubed with Pastels. To set the pastels, wipe over the
images with a piece of “Swiffer®”. After
you have created your background, stamp an open image over the background with
White Craft Ink. This technique
will make you look at your stamp sets in a whole new light!
