Mother’s Day Complete! Elements of Style Wishes

My week of Mother’s Day Cards is complete! Whew…….it was fun but a tad bit ambitious on my part! I think my mom really enjoyed them and is planning on taking them into her work to show all “the girls” she works with :) You can't see it very well in the photo, but I also used Versamark and stamped tone on tone of the spray of flowers, on the very vanilla paper main cardstock, behind the top note.

I did not have a lot of time yesterday to come up with ideas so went with some examples I found on Stampin’ Connection, various blogs and Splitcoast to generate some MOJO. I made two variations of the card as I gave one to my mom this morning at brunch and the other to my sister’s mother-in-law Peg, who has been a wonderful mother in law to Jane and a special part of the family now for over 25 years!

I used Gretchen Baron’s Inspiration in Action Sketch for the inspiration for # 6 of 7 Mother’s Day Cards! I have spent the last several months consistently reaching for the Specialty Designer Series Paper – Sweet Pea DSP, a great new Embosslits Die for the Big shot – Beautiful Wings and the beautiful new stamp set – Well Scripted – all from the Occasions Mini. Love – Mother’s Day Card

I first saw an example of this card at the Stampin’ Up Leadership Conference this past January when Shelli showed it on stage. As I was thinking of ideas for my “7 days of Mother’s Day Cards” idea, I looked at the friendship version I had made and wanted to create it again with the focus on Mother’s Day. Wonderful Mother – Mother’s Day Card

# 4 of 7 so far! I pledged to make my mom 7 Mother’s Day Cards – one for each day of the week leading up to Mother’s Day and here is my 4th installment. I love the Glassine Envelopes and Hugs Sending Love Notes and had an idea to create a bookmark from the Love Note so that when Mothers Day was over, my mom would have something to remind her of her (favorite ??) daughter all year long (smile). The card also uses one of my favorite Stamping Up Jumbo Wheels – Very Vintage. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to get one of the best ‘word’ stamp sets – Well Scripted. Another .... Happy Mother’s Day Card

Card #3 of 7! One for every day of the week leading up to Mother’s Day :)

I absolutely love the way this card turned out! It was one of those that you create, look at and are proud:) The card started out at 9.25” by 4.25”, scored at 2.5” and 5”, folded to create the card you see. I used Awash with Flowers – still available to be ordered until April 30^th and then not available again until the new catty in July. Order now! The Old Olive Satin Ribbon is just the right touch and adds a beautiful embellishment. Hope you like it!

Mother's Day Awash with Flowers

With Mother’s Day right around the corner (yes it is May 9^th – just 20 days away!), I wanted to make some cards for my mom:) I think I will try to make one a day for a week and send them to her each day for the week preceding Mother’s Day. The inspiration for this card was found right in front of me – on the Awash with Flowers Flyer from SU! I changed the colors, changed the ribbon and used the new Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder for interest. Hope you like it!
