My very first challenge card and post to our new blog! We are up and running and will be working hard at getting the hang of blogging and posting. It is an exciting time for Julie and I and we thank you for your interest in our posts.
I decided to overcome my fears and take the plunge by trying my hand at a challenge card. I loved the idea of honoring Breast Cancer Awareness by creating a card with PINK in it. I hope you like the results!
At first I had what I thought was "stampers block" but pushed through it and created this card. I just love how the pink and chocolate chip look together.
I wanted to create a special card for my friend and blogging partner Julie as she has had an extremely difficult week and I wanted to tell her I was thinking of her. Julie is a wonderful friend and stamping mentor and the entire reason I am now crazy about stamping :) You will start to see her fabulous creations as we post in the upcoming days and weeks.
I loved how the background added the special touch, highlighting the meaning of a friend and super easy to create with the texture plates and the Sizzix Big Shot. The beauty of the pearls and beads adds the special meaningful touch and is also easy to create with the SU Pretties Kit (another must have!). I adhered the butterflies with mini glue dots in the center and then for some added dimension, folded them upward slightly. Some paper piercing also added some additional interest.

On the inside of the card I added another butterfly to help tie the theme of the card throughout.

I absolutely LOVE this, Karin! I love the color combo! I love the wonderful textured background paired with the cute butterflies, too! So, so pretty! Great job with the challenge!
